spinning my wheels #2

I love this blog thing. 1) I get my own soap box and 2) It helps me process. :)
I've reread my last post and wanted to continue and state that I fully believe in spiritual gifts. I believe this is how the Lord helps us increase the Kingdom. So by not using these we're missing out, big time. What I have learned though is that many can have gifts and use them incorrectly. I have struggled with understanding this. Having gifts from God and being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn't always mean you have Love. The Lord keeps taking me back to 1 Cor. 13 that states if we "have not love, we gain nothing". Its easy to get excited about spiritual gifts and forget that we must first be rooted and established in love. Don't get me wrong, I believe God can use anyone, but if we are to grasp how wide, long, high, and deep the love of Christ is we must focus our hearts and allow Him to do some rototilling. The more our hearts are aligned with God's, the more He can use us.
Andy gets really annoyed when I watch the show, Heroes, because all of the "heroes" take SO LONG to figure out how to use their special gifts. Andy just wants them to get on with it and fight the good fight with all its gusto and glory. Its like the Body of Christ. We have this free gift of pure power and strength to increase the Kingdom of God but our insecurities, habits, and the fact we don't understand our freedom in Christ waters us down, making us weak and useless.
I don't know about you but I would like to be a super hero for Jesus in the fullness of His freedom. I want to be a strong vessel of power for the Kingdom of God, using my gifts as He intended me to use them, no matter how crazy they might seem to anyone else.
I love this show, Heroes, because it reminds me of the potential we all have (even though the show completely omits giving the glory to God, yes, major flaw) and the struggles we all go through in figuring out where we stand in this supernatural Kingdom.
Thank you Lord for using the messed up imperfections of this world for your glory. Thank you for your grace and mercy as we persevere and fight the Good Fight to increase your Kingdom in Heaven. We love you and give you ALL the glory!!

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the Kingdom,
the Glory and the Power forever.
Amen.

Right on! It's so hard to watch God's children sleeping. I can just see him trying to nudge them awake and give them many of His good and perfect gifts. Praise God that we have heard His voice!

Thanks for challenging us all in our thoughts/beliefs about God's TRUTHS, to step out of the tight and skinny box of "ourselves" into His wide open spaces of worship!
Can't wait to see and hug your face in 2 days! Love you-KI
